Detail of diabetic retinopathy (DR)
ncRNA name Fas siRNA
ncRNA Category siRNA
Disease name diabetic retinopathy (DR)
Species Homo sapiens
Tissues/Cell_line human RPE cell line ARPE-19
Methods MMP assay, apoptosis assay, MTT assay, qPCR, siRNA transfection, Western blot
Expression pattern associated
Functional description Advanced glycation end-products (AGEs) are extremely accumulated in the retinal vascular and epithelial cells of diabetes mellitus (DM) patients, particularly with diabetic retinopathy (DR). The siRNA-mediated knockdown of Fas/FasL inhibited the AGE-BSA-induced apoptosis.
PubMed ID 26479732
Year 2016
Title Advanced glycation end-product (AGE) induces apoptosis in human retinal ARPE-19 cells via promoting mitochondrial dysfunction and activating the Fas-FasL signaling.
